The stick remover provides a convenient trouble-shooting tool for removing stick remnants from device heating chamber in case of stick breakage.
Removal in just three simple steps: Push, twist, and pull. (refer to the tool user guide illustration).
Fully insert the stick remover vertically down into the device heating chamber until it has pierced the stick inside the chamber. Slowly remove the stick debris by pulling it out while twisting at the same time.
When using the stick remover tool, take care to avoid scratching the heating chamber walls or the TurboStart Quartz in the middle.
Battery / Charging HILO / HILO Plus
Yes, you can use the EasySwitch™ Pen while charging it. However, it will pause charging while you use it and will automatically resume charging when you are finished using it.
HILO Plus can be fully charged in only 90 minutes* delivering 20 sessions of taste satisfaction in Standard mode**.

The HILO Plus EasySwitch™ heating pen can only be charged by either the HILO Plus device via the charger pack or by the charging dock accessory.
For your convenience, the HILO starter kit comes with a complimentary USB-C charging cable. The cable length is intentionally short so that it's not too bulky and easy to carry for easy re-charging.
The Hilo device recharges via a standard USB-C port. As USB-C cables are widely available nowadays, you may be able to use other cables if you prefer a longer cable on certain occasions. (Note: If using other USB-C charging cables, the device charging time may vary.)
The device kit includes a standard USB-C charging cable, but not a power adapter, because most users already have compatible adapters at home. This helps reduce waste and packaging. (Note: If using other USB-C charging cables, the device charging time may vary.)
Yes, you can use the HYPER PRO USB-C charging cable as it is also enabled for fast charge.

HILO provides up to 20 sessions on a single charge (Based on laboratory testing of a fully charged device and may vary depending on an individual’s usage behaviour). It can be fully re-charged in up to 90 minutes using the recommended power adapters (12.5W - 5V2.5A or 9V1.5A) and USB-C cable supporting USB-PD protocol.
At the end of the HILO product’s life, the battery can be safely removed for disposal and recycling. The battery can be separated from the main device with easily available tools. Please follow the instructions provided provided in the device User Guide. Please note, this only applies when the battery reaches the end of it's life. The device is not designed to allow removal and re-assembly of the battery.

myglo App
When a firmware update is available, you’ll see a notification on the main screen of the myglo™ App.
You then just need to follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the update. All you need is the myglo™ App, an internet connection, your HILO / HILO Plus device, and a few minutes. The update can only be done through the app.
When a firmware update is available, first make sure the EasySwitch™ pen is inside the HILO Plus charging pack for the the update. Removing the pen could interrupt the process and potentially cause damage to the device firmware.
Then just follow the step-by-step instructions on the myglo™ App for completing the firmware update. All you need is the myglo™ App, an internet connection and your HILO Plus device.
Please note that the update can only be done through the myglo™ App.
Yes, always keep the EasySwitch™ pen in the charger pack during the update. Removing it may cause the update to fail and could potentially damage to the device firmware.
No, smart watches are currently not supported with the myglo App or with HILO devices.
Yes, you can customise your experience. You can personalise the on-screen messages that appear when your glo™ device is turned on and off. And you can adjust the session length of Standard mode on your glo™ device by using the mySession feature on the myglo App.
Yes, you can track your usage with the myglo App by referring to the myUsage section of the app.
For iOS (iPhone) users:
1. Download the Nuviu browser/app from the Apple App Store.
2. Open the Nuviu app and provide the necessary permissions when requested. You can then access the myglo™ App by typing "app.myglo.com".
3. Complete the myglo™ App registration and pairing process according to the on-screen instructions.

You can connect up to a total of 7 HILO and HILO Plus devices to the myglo App.
For HILO Plus, these app connections refer to the charger packs. Additionally, you can connect an unlimited number of HILO Plus EasySwitch™ heating pens.
You can add an unlimited number of EasySwitch™ heating pens to the myglo™ App. Please note that the pens must first be inserted into the HILO Plus charger pack in order to connect and sync with the myglo™ App.
The myglo App is designed to enhance, personalise and optimise the glo™ experience. It provides users with intelligent, user-friendly tools that offer greater control, insights and convenience. The key features of the app are:
myUsage: provides real-time insights into glo™ device activity, allowing you to monitor your daily, weekly and monthly device consumption patterns.
mySession: allows you to adjust the session length of STANDARD mode on your glo™ device, ensuring a more tailored experience.
myDisplay: lets you personalise the on-screen messages that appear when your glo™ device powers on and off, replacing the default message.
find my glo* helps you locate your glo™ device by showing the location of its last connection to the app and allowing you to play a sound on the device if it is within range.
Device Lock: While not a standalone feature, the Lock/Unlock function in the myglo App offers an extra layer of convenience and security for users. Accessible directly from the home screen, it allows you to instantly lock or unlock your glo™ device with a single tap.
*The app displays your glo™ HILO's /HILO Plus charger pack's approximate location when it is paired, charged and within Bluetooth® range of your smartphone. Otherwise, it shows the last known location when your glo™ HILO/HILO Plus charger pack was synced with your smartphone and your app was activated. Accuracy may vary due to obstacles, interference, or the electromagnetic environment.
When you are having an active session with EasySwitch™ Heating Pen inserted into the charger pack, you will see that some of myglo App features are unavailable. You can access these app features again once you have finished your session.
The myglo App is only available in select markets.
We’re continuously working to expand our myglo App and device connected ecosystem to more markets. While we don’t have a specific date to share at this time, we appreciate your interest and encourage you to stay tuned for future updates.
If your HILO Plus EasySwitch™ Pen is not inserted into the connected charger pack, you won’t see the pen in the myglo App. The EasySwitch™ pen does not have Bluetooth capabilities therefore it must be inserted into the Bluetooth enabled charger pack to be accessible through the app.
This is because the HILO Plus EasySwitch™ heating pen and charger pack both have their own batteries. The round battery indicator on the myglo App reflects the battery level of the charger pack, while the stick battery indicator shows how many sessions are available on the EasySwitch™ pen.
Some of myglo App features are only available if your HILO Plus EasySwitch™ heating pen is inserted into a connected charger pack, for example, mySession, myDisplay, lock and unlock.
The EasySwitch™ Pen does not have Bluetooth capabilities, therefore you will not be able to locate it on its own through find my glo in the myglo App. The find my glo app feature can be used to locate your HILO Plus charger pack*. If your charger pack is connected via Bluetooth, find my glo can identify if the EasySwitch™ pen is present in the charger pack or not.

Otherwise, it shows the last known location when your device was synced with your smartphone and your app was activated. If you don’t see your most recent session data in the myUsage screen, you should check if your EasySwitch™ pen is correctly inserted into the HILO Plus charger pack. The EasySwitch™ pen does not have Bluetooth capabilities, and all session data must be transferred through the Bluetooth enabled HILO Plus charger pack.

You can dispose your used sticks in the stick bin from our accessories range. Please dispose of stick bin contents responsibly.
Otherwise, you can also responsibly dispose of your used sticks in an appropriate receptacle.
Each pack of virto™ and rivo™ contains 20 sticks.
Store virto™ and rivo™ sticks in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve freshness and quality.
HILO and HILO Plus are only compatible with virto™ and rivo™ sticks for glo™. HILOis not designed for usage with neo or any other sticks outside of virto™ and rivo™ sticks. Consumers should avoid inserting any objects into the device stick chamber outside of the approved glo virto™ sticks and the glo™ Stick Remover tool, as this may cause potential damage to the TurboStart™ Quartz.
StickSeal™ Technology** is designed with a sealed end on the tobacco rod to provide users with a cleaner, more hygienic experience. While existing glo™ Hyper SKUs already incorporate this feature, the StickSeal™ format in the new virto™ sticks used with glo™ HILO continues to leverage this benefit. The sealed end, created by attaching a paper plug to the tobacco rod, prevents tobacco debris from falling out of the consumable and into the glo™ device during use - helping to maintain device cleanliness and enhance user satisfaction.

General HILO / HILO Plus
HILO and HILO Plus both offer a premium heated tobacco experience with dual-heating technology. HILO Plus notably includes the EasySwitch™ heating pen which can be used on its own or with the charger pack. It also features a touchscreen interface — ideal for users seeking more control between charges.
HILO Plus features a more intuitive interface thanks to its touchscreen technology, and it also includes the EasySwitch™ heating pen. Both HILO and HILO Plus have the same advanced dual-heating technology.
For a more intense session, choose Boost mode. For a longer and smooth session, choose Standard Mode. HILO provides a significant increase in overall taste intensity compared to Hyper Pro, as well as longer standard and boost sessions (14.8% longer and 38.9% longer respectively). You can also adjust the the length of your Standard Mode sessions in the myglo App.
The HILO Plus device is slim, modern, and built for comfort, offering a satisfying user experience and enough sessions for a full day’s use*. The design is not intended to resemble any other heating product devices and includes several distinctive features that set it apart, featuring the EasyView™ screen, Standard & Boost modes, and app connectivity.

If you insert the stick upside down, you will feel more resistance than normal. If you notice this difficulty in insertion, always visually check that the stick is the correct way up. The mouth end filter must always face upwards - the mouth end filter is easily recognizable with the coloured artwork printed on it. The tobacco end of the rod goes into the device - this has no print on it (white paper wrap). The stick must be inserted tobacco end down. When inserted correctly, the colour artwork printed part of the stick will be visible.
If you insert a stick upside down and start a session, you will notice a bad smell and taste. It is unlikely that the device will continue to function normally after heating an upside down stick, because filter material will melt inside the device and could prevent the next stick from being fully inserted.
We recommend that you replace your device. If you have experienced this problem, you will need to replace your device.
Yes you can cancel an active session at any time. For HILO, this is done by pressing either device button for more than 2 seconds. For HILO Plus, press the Control button for more than 2 seconds.
No, the heating mode selection happens before the session starts. Attempting to change the mode after this moment will not change the heating mode.
Yes. Both HILO and HILO Plus support Standard and Boost modes, giving you flexibility in your experience.
Both HILO and HILO Plus are available in in 7 colours: Onyx, Coral, Emerald, Amethyst, Amber, Ruby, and Sapphire (Colour availability may vary by market). The devices can be further customized with the HILO fabric sleeve accessory (sold separately) which adds a warm touch to your HILO.
The resolution, size, and technology for the HILO EasyView™ display is the same as the display screen for Hyper Pro: it is 90x282 pixels.
The screen on HILO Plus device is smaller than on HILO or Hyper Pro, and the resolution is 62x240 pixels.
To turn on the HILO device, first, simply slide the sliding door to open the heating chamber. Then insert the virto™ or rivo™ stick into the heating chamber. Decide on your mode, and then press and hold for 2 seconds the Boost mode button (TOP) or the Standard mode button (BOTTOM).
To turn on the HILO Plus device, it's similar as above, first, slide the sliding door to open the heating chamber and then insert the virto™ or rivo™ stick into the heating chamber. Decide on your heating mode (Standard or Boost), and then press the button (not the touchscreen) for 2 seconds (3 seconds if first time using the device).
The all-new HILO and HILO Plus are our most advanced devices yet.
They include the heating technology to use a combination of TurboStart™ Quartz and infrared waves. TurboStart™ technology heats 100% of the tobacco. This new technology heats up sticks in just 5 seconds for Hilo and less than 10 seconds for HILO Plus and to the highest heating level ever from glo™.
HILO and HILO Plus also use a different stick format from Hyper devices.
virto™ and rivo™ sticks have been exclusively designed for HILO and HILO Plus.
HILO is designed to deliver up to 3 consecutive / back-to-back sessions under typical room temperatures (15 - 25°C). At higher temperatures, the number of consecutive sessions the device can perform may be reduced. If you feel that the surface temperature has become painfully hot, stop using the device and allow the device time to cool down.
Please refrain from using the device outside of its recommended temperature range (i.e. exposing your device to ambient temperatures below -10°C or above 40°C) as the device may not work or get irreversible battery damage.
There are 2 heating modes for both HILO and HILO Plus.
You can choose either Standard or Boost mode on the device. If you have connected your device to the myglo App, you can further adjust the session length of Standard mode on your glo™ device, ensuring an even more tailored experience.

Both modes offer the same number of puffs, but Boost mode delivers a more intense taste experience from the start.
You can also customise your standard session length in the myglo™ App.
Similar to Hyper Pro, both HILO and HILO Plus continue to offer two heating modes – Standard and Boost Modes. Both modes have extended session length compared to Hyper Pro. The session length for Boost Mode is 4 min 10 sec (70 seconds longer than Hyper Pro) and the length for Standard Mode is 5 min 10 sec (40 seconds longer than Hyper Pro).
HILO Plus features the EasySwitch™ heating pen. You can use the pen separately or together with the HILO Plus charger pack for unmatched versatility.
You can start a session while the pen is in the charger pack, then detach it and continue on the go—even in the middle of the session. It seamlessly switches from a two-piece device to a standalone pen.
The HILO device colour names are inspired by precious gem stones that have a natural ability to radiate light and beauty.
The colour range currently includes Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Onyx, Coral, Amethyst, and Amber. Other colour options could be added in the future but not currently planned. Choose from 7 premium colour options, each designed intentionally for maximum visual satisfaction – and find the perfect match for your HILO device. (Colour availability may vary by market.)
Both HILO and HILO Plus feature TurboStart dual heating technology which enables a maximum heating temperature of the stick to approximately 370 C.

Maintenance HILO / HILO Plus
The HILO and HILO Plus devices are water-resistant and dust-proof and have an Ingress Protection rating of IP54. This means the devices are protected from limited dust ingress and protected from some moisture, such as light rain or drizzle, accidental splash from a drink, or quick wipe with alcohol spray or a damp cloth. Note that the devices are not intended to be fully immersed in water for any period of time, and they are not protected against heavy splashing (e.g. using at the beach or in the shower) and sand exposure without protection

Troubleshooting HILO / HILO Plus
Confirm that you have the latest version of the myglo™ App.
To check that you have the latest version of the app, follow these steps based on
i. iOS: Go to the App Store and search for the Nuviu app and see if there is an “Update” button near the app icon (instead of the regular “Get” button). If so, click on the Update button to update the Nuviu app. The myglo™ App should then update automatically in the background.
ii. Android: Go to the Google Play Store and search for the myglo™ App and see if it has an “Update” button near the app icon (instead of the regular “Get” button). If so, click on Update to update your myglo™ App to the latest version.
iii. If that doesn’t work, you may want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the myglo™ App.
Confirm that the device firmware has been updated to latest version.
To do so, go to the myglo™ App and check the device settings for your HILO Device. If a firmware update is available, it will say “Update Available” for downloading.
If both the app and firmware are up to date and the app features are still not synching with the device, you may want to try re-paring your phone with the device.
Confirm that Bluetooth™ is turned on for your phone and that you have the latest version of the myglo App. You may also try bringing the devices closer together.
For both iOS and Android, follow these steps to unpair your device to be able to re-pair it again:
i. Under Device settings select Remove Device, you will be prompt a message to also remove the device from your Bluetooth settings
ii. Enter Bluetooth Settings, find your Device and:

If you are still unable to pair the app with your device, you may want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the myglo App.
Presence and visibility of condensate (which may appear as brown staining on the stick) is a result of normal usage and is seen across rooibos/tobacco sticks in heating products. This is a common occurrence and is part of the system functionality.
While extracting the stick, the outer wrap and end cap may absorb condensate from the heating chamber.
Please carefully remove the stick and dispose of it responsibly.
To reboot your HILO device:
• Press and hold down either button on the HILO device for 13 seconds until the device screen changes; For HILO Plus, press and hold down the control button for 13 seconds until the screen changes.
• Release the button, and wait for device to reboot in a few seconds.
HILO is a heating device, so its surface can becomes warm during operation, which is normal. The device has been tested for safety and has embedded protection mechanisms to prevent dangerous overheating. If you feel that the surface temperature has become painfully hot, stop using the device and allow the device time to cool down. Please refrain from using the device outside it’s recommended ambient temperature range (0 - 40C), as it may cause irreversible damage to the device and its battery.
Your device may have been inadvertently locked. To unlock it, simply press the button 3 times until the green unlock icon appears on the device display. You can re-lock the device by pressing either button 3 times as well.
Allow the device to cool for at least 10 minutes after use. You can then use the HILO Stick Remover tool to extract the broken stick.

Battery end of life
This is an indication that the device battery has reached its end of life and the product needs replacement.
Three scenarios can be considered when Sand clock is on your display.
Please wait for a few moments before the device will be ready to operate.
The device is too cold (Sand clock, an exclamation mark and a temperature scale showing low temperature)
Please move the device to a warmer place if it has been exposed to low temperatures. Do not use the device if the ambient temperature is below 0° C, do not expose it to temperatures below -10° C to prevent irreversible damage.
The device is too hot (Sand clock, an exclamation mark and a temperature scale showing high temperature)
Please allow the device to cool down after the previous sessions or move it to a cooler place if it has been exposed to high temperatures. Do not use the device if the ambient temperature is above 40° C.
Reboot error
The device will need to be rebooted by pressing and holding the button on Hilo Hilo Plus device for 13 seconds.
If the error continues to show, this could be a sign of a broken TurboStart™ Quartz. Visually inspect the heating chamber with a torch to confirm the presence of the quartz. A broken quartz will likely leave debris in the heating chamber.

Your device software needs a reset. Please press and hold down the button on Hilo Plus device for 13 seconds until the screen changes. Countdown will reset if the button is released before the end of the countdown. To perform the reset correctly, it is important to keep the button continuously pressed for 13 seconds.
Non-recoverable error
This is a critical product error and the product needs replacement. Please contact glo customer care.
Two scenarios can be considered when a wall plug/cable is on display.
USB connector is too hot (Exclamation mark and a cable with a cross)
Please remove the USB-C cable immediately and let the device to cool down. Please replace the charging adaptor and/or the cable to a recommended one.
Exceeding operational voltage
Device is exceeding operational voltage. Please remove USB-C immediately. Please try another charger recommended in their user guide.
There may be instances when inserting a stick into the device is more difficult than usual, however this is very infrequent. The paper end cap segment at the bottom of the stick is composed of gathered paper, which allows the pin to pierce it. On occasion, the pin can catch the paper fibres during insertion, resulting in slightly higher resistance. It is normal for some of the paper fibres to be pushed up into the tobacco segment upon insertion.

2. Open the shutter by rotating the TasteSelect™ dial to the Standard or Boost position, but do not press the start button.
3. If you cannot remove the stick using your hands, try using a toothpick to gently pull the stick out. If necessary, open the access door and carefully push the stick from the bottom. Do not apply excessive force, as this may damage the heating chamber.
4. Finally, check for any residue in the heating chamber. If present, clean it with a cotton swab. Close the heating chamber by rotating the dial to the OFF position and make sure to keep it closed when not using the device to prevent the build up of dust or foreign objects.

The Lucky Strike tobacco sticks upgraded with StickSeal™ technology are compatible with all existing glo™ Hyper devices.
1. Make sure the device is turned off and has cooled down for at least 10 minutes after the last use.
2. Open the shutter by rotating the TasteSelect™ dial to the Standard or Boost position, but do not press the start button.
3. If you cannot remove the stick using your hands, try using a toothpick to gently pull the stick out. If necessary, open the access door and carefully push the stick from the bottom. Do not apply excessive force, as this may damage the heating chamber.
4. Finally, check for any residue in the heating chamber. If present, clean it with a cotton swab. Close the heating chamber by rotating the dial to the OFF position and make sure to keep it closed when not using the device to prevent the build up of dust or foreign objects.
